The manoeuver he was performing is called a "rotor over." One of the most challenging moves we can do in a helo. It looks like he didn't gain enough altitude during the pullup, probably because he wanted a dramatic tail snap for the camera crew just below him. As he came through the midpoint of the turn, as Taz says, his lift requirement was very high. Predictably, you can see he pulled power, which also pulled his tail parallel the ground, thereby flattening the turn. As a result, he started to sink FAST. Once at the the 3/4 mark of the manoeuver, his only salvation was to level the wings, keep the nose down, and gain airspeed. Instead, he kept the turn in, and that finished him off.
