Tesla

Hey guys.

I just saw a Telsa parked up on the high street in Oxford coming back from the gym.

I didn't even know the Telsa's make it to the UK, then I did some research and apparently only 140 units in Europe.

For such a rainy miserable place like Oxford, this was a pleasant surprise. At first I thought it was a Lotus then I saw T E L S A on the back and grabbed front and back pics of it.

Nice to see some California electricity in UK

Same happened to me, also in the garage at the gym here in Lugano. First time I saw it in the flesh, much smaller than I thought. I also mistook it for a Lotus at first glance. The license plate holder said "Let's burn rubber instead of gas". I was glad to see a Tesla on Swiss plates.

This year I will buy my first electrical vehicle, a KTM Freeride E. It is expected to be released by the end of this year and I'm putting down a deposit ASAP. I think it's good for coming argumentation and possible criticism for driving old powerful cars, to have at least one electrical vehicle in the fleet. That should hopefully silence any criticism.

Very nice.

Is Telsa worth the price of £86K? I think the price might be too high for what it's worth, the cockpit looked tiny, looks like just a child can sit in it.

Will- Yup, that is their first car built on a Lotus chassis. Latest is their four door sedan, the S, on a bespoke chassis and with a very advanced battery and electric motor system.

The Tesla roadster was built in Norfolk by Lotus with much of the engineering work to develop it also handled by them. It sits on a modified Elise tub/chassis so there is a reasonable amount of room inside though entry and exit isn't the easiest over the wide sills.

I was passed by a Tesla 2 years ago in Montreal on Décarie, it was white. And again last summer in Toronto but a dark green or blue. When I saw the white one comming in my rear view mirror I recognize it and told my girlfriend to listen to the car that will pass. What a surprise to see a sport car that make no noise except tires.

£86K is a chunk of money. That's why my first E-vehicle will be a simple enduro bike at €10K.

They're all the rage in San Francisco, especially with the Silicon Valley crowd.
Can't swing a Duracell battery without hitting one....

Yup. I've posted on youtube many times of the Infineon[now sonoma raceway] Ferrari Challenge, and watched their growth over the years.

they are not being made anymore IIRC, and the newer models are much better, but insanely quick: Faster than Enzo IIRC.

We here in tree hugging bay area, love the hybrids and electrics except for the clowns that need to be too conservative in their driving habits.

However, not a fan of the body or Elise platform.
