Bazil's Motorcycle racing

Remember the really cool pic Bazil posted with the motorcycle on the track?
Well that motorcycle racing isn't something you just jump right into. It takes a while to develop the required skills. I found this picture of Bazil practicing his "form". :green:

I think he's a bit smaller (I really mean lighter!!) than me!

If I tried that, I might be a little further over - I'm not sure the spring on the bottom of it is ready for me...

I remember the first time I got my knee down - it was fantastic. Unfortunatly, I also remember the first time I got my elbow, knee, chest, backside, hands, feet, etc down - that wasn't so much fun!!! :green:

Ouch!!! Hope you enjoyed the photo! It wouldn't be so bad falling off that bike and landing in the sand.

I've seen that before and that is a great shot. Makes me want to do something that stupid/funny. Just imagine what those kids were thinking (assuming this photo is real). Years of laugh that guy is getting right now I'm sure.

I used to ride my VF750 Interceptor like that, but my imagination finally caught up to reality and now it's mostly memories. But not totally- about once a year I take it out and "ear-hole" about 15 miles of winding 2-lane near here. I really ought to do that more often if I do it at all, so I stay current (or at least in practice), pushing a 150 MPH bike in corners way too fast needs to be kept up with, if you know what I mean.

I used to pack my Interceptor with lightweight backpack camp gear and spend 2 weeks in northern NY and New England, doubling the curve warning signs and spending day after day well into 9/10 on some of most sensual, interesting roads that wind their way throughout the mountains. I hve no idea whatsoever why it is I survived that unscratched and unarrested. But that was then, this is now, and just an hour or so doing that is enough. I look back on those summers as the most evocative, intoxicating and deeply satisfying motorhead events in my life. Glad to hear there's a kindred spirit here.

Bazil's first ride was probably more like this bike, which actually runs and is raced:

Baz you probably burned-off too many Ferraris while doing a lazy one-handed "mono" in your youth! :green: This is their chance to get back

I certainly hope I didn't offend you, that was not my intent at all.

Eddy,
We're all friends here. Every now and again we give each other a little good-natured ribbing. There have been a few instances where the laughs were at my expense (I'm sure there will be more in the future).
You hang around here and you'll get yours too! :green:
