How soon for Ferrari to jump on this new tech?

I mean with KERS and cup holders [shudder] now in builds, and CA being amongst the largest sites for Ferrari owners, we'll just have to brace ourselves for this one:

I believe this has already been in practice in Paris for a few years? I honestly have mixed emotions about the idea. Here in D.C., driving is a serious hazard most times. In some ways it would be a relief to know there is some real control over traffic behavior.

On the other hand, I really just wish this country would adopt more strict driver training and education protocols...like German y has. Then it wouldn't seem so necessary to have self operating vehicles.

control is never good. i will never drive a government controlled car. you have to be a mental case to give over that kind of liberty. But hey, you are not doing anything wrong, so why not?

For crowded freeways, drive by sensor could just about eliminate traffic jams because of the ability to put more cars on the road closer together without really affecting speed. We are decades from that, though, because it requires a huge infrastructure investment.

I only truly see this as a great feature for the handicapped or freeways where jams can be kept to a minimum by programmed distances on a fast track etc. I mean we almost let BART or similar trains not to mention Air Crafts run on auto mode, cars in certain instances might be great on auto mode.

I'll almost bet that in the future, we'll be seeing home deliveries of groceries: Imagine walking to the store, then calling the car to pick you up and deliver all home.

or children being 'bussed' to school...

but then again, I'm guessing everything else will remain the same which it will not.

not saying I would necessarily buy into all things, but it's a progress now made legit on our roads like in CA!

just a matter of time.....we'll have to prepare some changes in social norms.
