Derek Jeter, all time hits leader?
If Jeter plays, as Pete Rose did, another seven seasons until he is 45, he will have to average roughly 140 hits per season. This is very plausible.
He is on pace for 225 hits this season.
With the DH, the fact that he is the biggest brand name on the Yankees, and the Yankees remaining a strong hitting team that can give him enough at bats, the opportunity will certainly be there.
The fact that at 38 years old he is still athletic enough to be one of the leagues premier shortstops tells me that the only thing that can keep Jeter from passing this milestone is injury.
What do you think, and why???
