Hydro Graphs (carbon fiber)
A couple months ago my son bought a hydro graphs business and had to go to school in south Florida and asked me to come along as we use to live in the Keys, so I did with the intent to visit old friends and bring up old times but I went to his school as a visitor and seen this process could really be cool on some of my cars. I posted a couple pictures on another thread and decided not to hijack it so here is some info for those of you who like a different look.
For many years the automotive industry has been using hydro graphics on cars and I always wonder how the heck did they make a burl wood looking dash on plastic, well its been going on for over 40 years but the patent expired about 10 years ago and individuals have started up there own hydro graphics business. The process is very timely and conditions must be kept perfect for it to work but what its about is putting a painted (ink type) pattern on a just about anything but rubber. I gave him my vents for my 208 twin turbo and a set of old mirrors I had and here is the result. I am giving him a plug on this but by no means involved with his business but very proud of his him and his artist ability. For instant a pair of vents or a pair of mirrors would be $75 so that gives you an idea of price and your responsible for shipping costs. I am going to have him do my gauge panel and the center panel in my car also the front grill and rear diffuser over the rear deck lid. Anyway here are some pictures, PM me and I will send you his email.
