Land Rover

Not Ferrari related, but I thought I'd share.

I just bought another Land Rover Discovery after regrettably selling my previous Disco a few years ago. It's an 03 as I prefer the last generation, especially the 03/04 model years. They are fun, rugged and quirky vehicles and are just about unstoppable in any terrain or conditions. And yes, I actually do take mine off road to a summer camp I have. It will see barely cleared dirt (or mud) roads and multiple stream and creek crossings of various width and depth.

Are there any Ferrari Life members who own a Land Rover?

Cheers.
Dave

Does a Range Rover count?

Not that I drive it too often, but it does ferry the children around nicely and I think we once drove it on the grass at a picnic....

On a slightly more serious note, I do like the Disco. In fact I think a 7 seater Disco is probably what will replace the RR if we ever decide to sell it.

I have a 64 SIIa 109 Pickup that is my daily driver.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

I have had 5 full size RR's.

Bought a 2011 Sport loved it - my daughter took it about 6 months ago.

It was the best one I ever owned - miss it dearly!

Very close friend of mine owns Blue Grass Motorsport - if anyone ever wants a deal send a pm.

Wifey drives a Freelander 2 diesel - really good car - we have an Evoque Dynamic on order - white with black roof and gunmetal wheels.

I was hesitant at first about buying a Landy but now think they are great

RR Sport here and my wife is awaiting delivery of a Evoque in a few weeks...

Besides that I have and always will have a very special connection to the LR brand.
I'm a LR certified off road driving instructor and have been involved in Camel Trophy in the past as a member of the International/Dutch Camel Trophy team, training the Dutch Teams and also involved in International selections of the participating teams. LR's are simply the best and ultimate off road vehicles, escpecially the Defenders and Disco's! We used to run a company in Holland called 'Camel Trophy Experience'. We organised Camel Trophy day's and trips for companies, which was great fun!

(And a few Alfa Romeo's and Range Rovers)

LandCruisers my friends, that's what you want in the bush!

Not quite the Camel Trophy but the Cruisers last at least twice at long at a mine site compared to LandRovers. Cars take serious beating in mining. Having said that, I do love the Landies.

Here's a few photos our latest Range Rover addition. My wife swapped her beloved Freelander 2 for her new fully loaded Evoque last Friday & we tried it out during the freak blizzard snow storm that hit Scotland today, we had over 1 metre in places and am very glad & somewhat relieved to report her Evoque performed flawlessly.

Im sure your wife will also be very pleased when her's arrives too Jeroen
