Luke, Both bullets drop the same vertical distance. The bullet fired from the gun just happens to travel horizontally as it's falling. so the total distance they travel is different, but gravity pulls them to the earth equally.

right, but missing from the original dicription is "a bullet fired parrallel to the ground" or similar.....a bullet fired straight up is not only really dangerous to the shooter and all around him/her but will also take much longer to hit the ground

I said level, level because I thought if I said parallel, someone would say how can something be parallel to a sphere. God damn ye're a tough crowd to please.

fine... but "Everything" only has 10 letters, where "stewardesses" has 12. Stewardesses still wins.
