Nightlife returned to la La Land

Hey boys been MIA for a bit, I went down to California to drive my baby again.
Weather was good around +18c in day time.

We arrived late as we were held in flight pattern over LA so Pres Obama could take off, Pffft didn't he know I was about to land WTF.

First day I was held up in traffic for 3 hours on the 405. Imagine from here to Moosejaw 5 lanes wide each side, bumper to bumper traffic crawling 4mph all the way. The clutch on the DR is like pressing a leg press, I pressed that damn thing at least 5/10000 times on my bad knee, talk about thumping pain lol.

Rest of the trip was awesome, especially Sun where a group of 9 of us went for a tour through the Canyons. We had a French Canadian driving champion that lead our group, we all had radios and he warned us about up coming traffic, sand, tight curves etc...

I pushed the lambo hard and it still wanted to give more, it performed incredibly well. Thank God I rebuilt all 6 shock actuators, the adjustable sport suspension saved my a$$ on more than one occasion. I started at 2 firmness but quickly moved to 4 sport setting as the road was insane, like alpine insane. But man was it fun full of hair pin turns, a couple of them almost 300 degree turn.

The drive was broken up into 3 segments lasting over 6 hours, traffic was very light in the Canyons but one had to be extremely careful coming into blind corners. A few times I encountered a bike or car right at the blind spot.

One time powering over a hill sun was directly in my eyes, as I came over the hill still accelerating the ground dropped and right hair pin turn. This is where I must thank the fact that we learn to drive well here in Canada on icy conditions. As I came over top the turn was 30 meters hard hard right, I braked hard with wheels squealing trying to grip and edge of cliff getting closer by the foot. I hit brakes hard sliding a bit until last second I released and power through the turn. I now have a brown racing stripe on my with leather lol.

Sounds like you had a blast.....nice to see a convoy of cars with such different colors. When we go out....it's all red and a black sheep once in a while....LOL

So, how long until you can bring her in? you gonna wait until summer?

Roberto surely you do not expect us to believe that your car is fast.
What do you mean accelerating over the hill?
That car does not have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding.......btw is it the 1600cc or the 2000cc model you have?
Maybe when you have saved some money and you get it back home you can do a big motor conversion, something like a V12 I think

Nope not that easy brother, the plates I had were dealer plates, they were gracious to lend me for my trips. If I had it plated in states and brought it up I would have been red flagged when time came to permanently import it. I had my lawyers look into everything. I could have taken a chance but why risk it.

Besides I was able to drive it for a total of 4 weeks in Gods country California . There is nothing that can quite compare to driving an exotic down the Pacific Coast highway, especially when sun is setting and you get those beautiful golden hues all over the hills and valleys, it is breath taking

That is a nice looking Diablo Roberto. No idea that you had gotten rid of the 348. I suppose I've been gone for a while.

Hey Rik, you know all the talk about the zombie apocalypse could very well be true as I feel I have once again become alive

Roberto it sure is a nice Diablo, and I think you would be absolutely crazy not to love that bull. I went to a local cars and coffee meet today with about 100 cars however due to the 33 F outside no Lambos or ferraris were there.

I have disappeared for a while for a good thing this time. I got a temporary job at Intertape Polymer Group as a QC tech doing chemical tests. It's 6 months which is great because I'm hoping to go to grad school in September. Also, got an iPhone so I don't have an excuse now not to linger around the flife boards. And to Pete's glee I have a girlfriend who is exotic
