Spyker Automobiles in financial trouble

I'm saddened to report that Spyker may not be able to keep afloat much longer.

I have a connection at Spyker Cars in the Netherlands and after a recent Email regarding a different subject, was told that I could share information after March 1 that the company may not make it through the end of the year.

I have seen a few of them. Beautifully put together but just never generated much interest. I always thought the design was a bit odd looking and never quite sure who they were targetted against.

I've ridden in Spyker #007, first owned by Victor Mueller, the company's MD. You can see it at the end of this clip: YouTube - jazzyonno's Channel

It is a great car - I love the interior and the smallness of the car. It really is a tiny thing, great to chuck around. Sounds wonderfull and it is fast, although not quick enough to compete with the recent onslaught of 458's and such. They make something unique and that is commendable. I would be sad to see them go, not just because they are my country's only car maker.

But - they've been in trouble before and pulled through, let's see what happens.

Agreed an acquaintance of mine has one, I like them but would never own one just look odd. Although it has one of the sexiest interiors I have ever seen in an auto.

if you like the interior of a spyker, you will love the interior of a pagani.

here are a couple pics i took at the factory. I was really impressed with this car. I had never seen a pagani before and knew little about them. They are now my second favorite manufacturer. The craftsmanship, fit and finish on these cars is second to none. This is having just visited the ferrari and lambo factories. Truly amazing cars and sold out in advance. This particular car is the red one in the picture with my son. the one he is standing in front of was natural black carbon fiber over yellow ostrich hide.

Just talked to the VP of sales for spyker and he basically told me this story:
BREAKING: Spyker sells car unit to coachbuilders CPP — Autoblog

sold to coventry, their caochbuilders in UK. gonna make them in the UK now. Something about them not being able to co-mingle saab's money with spyker. He said they will actually be making more, not less.

i think they sold in the 30's. i remember him telling me and i thought it was just like pagani. I believe he said they were gearing up to do 60 this year.
