Keeping a 328 outside?

Hi folks,

New member, and someone who's trying hard to persuade the 'wife' to let him buy that 328GTS he's wanted for 18 years...

I've recently moved from London to Kent, so a better place to own a Ferrari. The one thing that's bugging me, though, is storage.

I don't have a garage, only really a drive, and I always thought these cars MUST be kept in a garage (pref climate-controlled etc).

What do you reckon though... would it be happy enough sitting outside with a cover over it? Or should I buy a house with a garage BEFORE the 328?

personally, i wouldn't keep mine outside at all. To each his own. I imagine the main problem would be damage to the paint and interior. i'm sure the drive train won't care. i guess i would rather have my 328 outside than not at all. Buy a friend with a garage, not a house with one.

I'll go out hunting for a rich friend or big house.

God I'd like to live in California, but my scottish skin would go crazy.

If you get a high quality outdoor cover, you should be OK. Hamilton Classic sells a few very good ones.
