My neighbor across the street, left Saturday to Nepal for two months for his Mt. Everest cliimb. http://www.summitclimb.com/new/default.asp?vid=59
He has climbed five of the seven peaks to qualify for some passage/right.
The man in question above, is a former black ops type from the Vietnam days....I wouldn't mess with him. VERY nice guy.
However, this is no picnic. I am sure he knows his limits as he is that smart, but I still would have serious concerns for that climb.
Thinking it's not worth it from my standpoint. They guy has lived some very trying times....even still he's on the official list to retrieve MIA bones in Vietnam from time to time. Seems almost more than a bucket list item, more like a re-live of the old days.
Are we getting so old that we are fragile enough to want to relive the tough times from our youth?
I know I still have a lite-wing flight gift on the fridge waiting for me to use: that's a thrill I haven't had....but hoping is safe.
BUT This might be for two days, and < $2k a chance to drive 599's and 430s http://experienceferrari.com/
Now that seems a nicer bucket item to me.
I know to each his own.
