Pantera in town...

On the way to court to sign up for driving school from my speeding ticket last week, I saw a Pantera in a gravel lot behind a light industrial building. Rarely see exotics of any stripe in my town. Great looking car! I like how they have the Impala under the cover and the De Tomaso out in the elements!

Good find sir. Does attending Driving School get you off the hook for the points?

In Australia we get a "Speeding Ticket" or we get to choose to go to Court. A speeding ticket costs depending on what speed you were travelling within.

You folks have a good system of going back to driving school... not

There's your future, Boxer ! I hope it wasn't F50 she was driving.
Here in Japan, the max speed being 80kph tollways, I think you get arrested at the spot if caught going about 80 above the max. (Not sure of the exact number, but that is outcome). Of course you'll loose the license too and have to start the acquisition all over again. w/ smiles Jimmy

No, only the F355, 512BB, and F40. Prefers British cars to Italians.

That's cool! My Mom was a Jaguar driver until she wanted to sit up a little higher - bought a Porsche Cayenne. She likes to ride in the F430 (she never even saw the 612) - pretty funny...

I'll say one thing, we don't have the driving experience needed for our youngsters like in them olden days. Saw on top gear, IIRC, a couple days ago, the Finish driver ed, program. Not just regular driving but ICE, SNOW, wet!!!! Showed some young overweighted child type doing a FINE job of driving, and they are required to put in many hours: We should do this...too many dumb ones on the road who drive like they are watching a TV screen...no awareness or consideration of the environment...

I think those pre-L Panteras were the nicest designs of the family. The later models just didn't have it with their federally mandated bumpers, etc.

IMO, the rear always looked a bit unfinished though. Almost as if the designer ran out of ideas, so he just chopped it off and left it like that.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

I grew up with a kid that lived down the street. His dad has owned a silver Pantera for years. That car is mint, I will try and get some pics of it. Interior was completely restored, and every piece of the engine is polished and blueprinted.

Not too many exotics here either. Just me and a few other guys.

+1!

Very cool grandmother you have Boxer. My mum still hasn't driven any of my Ferraris, despite my urging.

I almost talked her into buying a 599 GTB a few years ago.

She decided not to after getting a ticket for doing 85 mph in a 70 zone in her Jag. Figured the Ferrari would be the end of her license.
