Flying without an airplane

This has got to be the most insane thing I've ever seen people take up as a hobby. I admit it is really cool and the feeling must be awesome, but the consequences of a mistake are, well, fatal.

Just amazing. I admire these guys and I wish I could have experienced it myself (because it must be a wonderful feeling) but not in 100 million years would I try that. The risk is just not worth it. The most amazing thing about that clip were the camera shots - just incredible.

Yeah, wingsuit BASE jumping is not something I'd put down as a hobby on my Resume to prospective employers. Better stick to less extreme sports like.........well anything else really.

There was an interesting documentary about these guys on recently, here is an example of it going wrong from the programme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug1rCyeNujU

The impact is cut out of the footage so you wont see it but it was apparently at about 120mph.

This was on 60 minutes last year and they talked about their buddy getting killed because he got to close to the mountain. At those speeds, just a slight touch of mountain and your dead.

That is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. I've bungee jumped quite a few times and it's the coolest feeling jumping off the edge...all fear disappears and total calmness takes over.

But this has to be the ultimate!
