You can get a new car for under $10k

I just saw it. A brand new 2010 Hyundai Accent for $9,970. Unbelievable. Isn't the F1 transmission on a Ferrari like a $15k option? The Koreans can build you an entire car and deliver it halfway around the world for 2/3's that money. Amazing.

I think I will print out this picture and take it to work with me. Next time a vender wants to sell me a bearing for $10,000 and take 3 months to deliver it I'll just show him the picture of what the Koreans can do for me for that money.

We bought an oil skimmer at work. It is about 3 feet long and consists of a plastic tub, a rotating plastic drum, a scraper and an air operated pump. It was $5k. $5k! It's got like 2 moving parts. For twice the money compare that to a complete automobile with ABS and air conditioning? Your selling me a rotating plastic drum?

Even if it was 5k would you buy a Hyundai? Call me a snob, but if I only had 10k to spend on a car, I would buy a used VW Golf, at least it would still be worth 6k in 3 yrs time

..........
Actually, that price would just about replace the RR Drop Head umbrellas and both Grey Poupon canisters.

As for outrageous: 456 Hood > $29,000 USD unfinished. Right CAT ~= $5,000 OEM New, Left CAT > $9,000 OEM NEW. Radiator about $8,000 new. Don't even get me started on a quad set of Exhaust manifolds and those crummy shocks.

ALsmost forgot: Ashtray, Mondial T about $200 .. it's a freaking 1.5" x 3" x 1" box of pressed metal.

Or Toyota. Never had a problem on an older model. ACTUALLY, you might be better off in a classic car, for that price which will offer less in repairs [thinking] and zerolike depreciation.
