Radio Shack - big disappointment
I wanted to buy a radio for my garage. You know, just a little work radio, FM, cheap, portable, makes noise. Kinda like the boom box we all grew up with. Thought I'd stop at Radio Shack. Well guess what they don't sell? It's a big store and they have cell phones and computers and radio controlled toys of every kind imaginable. A saleswoman says, "Can I help you?" I tell her what I am looking for and she shows me a selection of like 10 different IPod docking stations that have a built-in radio. I'm like, "No, I don't have an IPod and all I'm looking for is a radio without all the fancy features and doesn't cost a hundred dollars." She says, "I'm sorry."
So I went to Home Depot to buy my paint and ended up buying a radio there. A Ryobi work radio that cost $30. It uses the same rechargeable battery as my drill so you don't have to plug it in anywhere (in fact if the drill dies in the middle of a job you can take the battery out of the radio and plug it into the drill) and it looks like I could drop this thing out a two-story window or run it over with my truck and it would still work. Good purchase. That's what I wanted.
So if you want a radio, don't go to Radio Shack.
