Any thoughts about the RM auction and prices over the weekend?

On August 13, RM sold 51 of 51 wood-bodied Fords and Mercurys from the Nick Alexander Collection for a $7,018,000 total. High sale was a 1946 Mercury Sportsman Convertible at $368,500.

On August 14-15, at its Sports & Classics of Monterey Auction, RM sold 155 of 187 cars for a $28,504,600 total, with three million-dollar cars. High sale was the ex-Phil Hill 1952 Jaguar C-type, which made $2,530,000. A 1955 Aston Martin DB3S sold for $1,980,000, and a 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ Disappearing Top Convertible Coupe brought $1,430,000. Total results from the three-night event came to $35,522,600 on 206 of 239 cars, and you can view those results

In 2008, RM sold 147 of 172 cars over two nights for a $44,093,450 total, with twelve million-dollar cars.

thought the prices were low, and some didn't even get reserve: state of the econ.

then again, some of the 'better' sought for, with great history got better interest.

all in all about 30% down.
