Newb here

Hey all. new here in Denver, Co. Car hasn't seen daylight in two years. Just had some maintenance to get her running for what's left of the Colorado summer and taking her over for a few days of visual rejuvenation.

Hope to be on the road next weekend!

She's black. I dug out a pic of the day I brought her home a little over three years ago. I have had her at the detailers for four days now. Stopped by yesterday and the finish looks better than when I originally brought her home. And, about $3500.00 for the detail. Looks great but, I was a bit surprised that buffing and such is that expensive. The guy came pretty highly rec. So, just suck it up and get on the road!

Wow she is a beaut, love those yellow calipers.

And $3500 for detailing is insane OMG, did they give you a new interior?

I also thought $3500 was steep. But, apparently this guy commands this $! I was referred to him by a friend who claims referral is the only way he will do "Exotics". GUess it's his way of qualifying clients?

Anyway, I'm anxious to on the road this weekend!

The car is beautiful but $3,500 for a detail? That's nuts.

I pay about $800 and thought that was crazy and still do.

I am now using Griots Best of Show by hand- no buffer. Do not want to take the chance of damaging anything.

I had this done to get the paint in shape. After all the polising, it was finally waxed with "Swisswax"? I haven't looked for it yet but, the detailer claims it is about $1k for a small jug of this stuff. If so, I won't likely buy that brand. But, I do think I will take care of the paint now that it is flawless! I didn't know much about the process but did learn a bit. I was also given a computer print out of how think the paint was before and is after the detail. I didn't know this level of service actually existed. The detailer used a "rotary" buffer and explained that damage can be pretty bad in the hands of someone inexpereinced. Like you, I won't be using an electric buffer on my car!

I've got Swissvax, and it's expensive, but not necessarily THAT expensive. The top of the line, signed by God in a gold plated marble case is perhaps $1k. But it all depends on how pure you want the Carnuba wax to be. I've got the Scuderia wax, which was around $150 for a pot (I think) and it is more than enough quality for my lovely 330GTC. Now, if only I can find the time to apply it...

Together with the wax I ordered their masterclass total package with car shampoo, leather polish, bug remover, etc., etc., and that I am very happy with. Car looks great after using those products. The wax, as said: not had time yet.

Oh, and congrats! VERY nice F430. Love them in black.

Nice to see another individual from Co on Ferrari Life. Beautiful 430. I have a red 360 which I enjoy. That was quite an expensive detail you had? Was it done in Denver? Are you attending the wine and cheese @ FOD Monday? Possibly see you around. Again welcome!

Thanks! No, not really into the club/dealer events. Those types of things just is get me excited to purchase something that is not really in my current plan - probably their intent?!

Yes, had the detail done here in Denver. The detailer was referred by a friend who lives in Orange County and has, for the past 15 or so years, had this guy fly out to service his cars. And, though I understand the whole wax and buffing thing, I must say that I learned quite a lot about how to properly care for the car and how to avoid scrathing the surface. I also leanered that the service I received was NOT a "detail" as much as it was a "Paint Correction". End of the day, he spent days on the car and it looks absolutely flawless. So, $ well spent. So, long as I can keep it up, I'm happy!

And, though I'm not much of the club gathering type, I am considering paying a visit to the cars and coffee get together every Saturday?

We'll see?

Jerry
