Metric tire question...

After reading the post on Mondial tires, I have a question about metric tires. I understand US tire sizes and what number is what. But on metric 220 55 390, I think I know what 220 and 55 are (similar to regular tires) but what is 390????

Something like 15.35 inches,as you probably know a 15.35'' tire is hard to find and expensive.

There is a converter that you can download. I have lost the link but a google search should pull it up.

They are metric sizes. Yes the 390 represents the rim diameter in millimetres.

And certainly in the UK we mostly use imperial for tyres and wheels as you American/Canadian folks do. We just spell it correctly
