We are pleased to offer 1972 Dino 246 GT coupe s/n 03502. With 100 HP per litre this Dino offers a level of performance other Dino owners can only dream of, with power to match the Dino's legendary handling and excellent brakes. This Dino is absolutely exhilarating to drive and offers the performance and mechanical/exhaust sounds every Dino should have. Runs and drives as nicely as it looks, no expenses spared, and priced right at $149,500.
Thanks to extensive development work by Wayne Obry at Motion Products, Neenah, Wisconsin, this 246 GT is what the factory should have built, with a more than impressive dyno tested 250 HP at 7,500 RPM. In addition to a total rebuild, this stock looking but internally modified and blueprinted engine features modern lightweight pistons, titanium rods, valves and retainers and a just replaced clutch assembly. The cams have been re-profiled to modern computer designed profiles. The intake manifolds and heads have been ported and polished and one size larger Weber carbs have been fitted. A full Tubi header and exhaust system has been fitted. The transmission and differential have also been completely rebuilt. All other accessories such as the distributor and water pump have also been rebuilt. The total invoices for the mechanical work are over $46,000 with another $10,000 for the Tubi headers and exhaust and another $11,000 in on-going updates by the current owner.
246 GT s/n 03502 is finished in a very good Ferrari red paint over a straight and dent free body, with excellent panel fit. Both lower door skins have been replaced and the USA side marker lights have been removed and replaced with the far more subtle European side marker lights. Has the correct period style Dino mirrors on both doors. Has a good dash and very nice black vinyl seats. Features a very clean and nicely detailed engine compartment. Has a documented ownership history from new, and is complete with the original or reproduction owner's manual, parts catalogue, vinyl carrying pouch, sales brochure, tool roll and tools, jack and bag, jack wedge, reflective triangle and a Xerox copy of the workshop manual. Over 30 pages of invoices plus dyno sheets available. Also included are a lightly used Tilton flywheel and starter worth over $3,000.00 when new.
