Replacing a Marelli Dinoplex AEC103A with modern internals

I gutted the AEC-103A Marelli Dinoplex and placed an MSD6 AL-2 internals inside. Preserved teh Thyristor heat sink and toroid insulating pad. Painted the Blaster2 coil satin black and put a repro Marelli coil sticker on it. Tested it in line with current MSD unit and then fully installed

I have just completed 2500 miles and it runs very well and looks stock!

Thank you.
I have never had a Marelli box and now still don't, it just looks like one!

Great idea. I still have a NOS unit sitting on the shelf for a 365bb.

On the more modern end of the spectrum, we offer manufactured Magneti Marelli ignition units for the entire injected 308 line. We'll soon be releasing a replacement ignition box for the 3,2 engine. Unlike the AEC box, these Digiplex and Microplex units units create multiple advance curves as well as drive the ignition coil.

Points

I guess they are working ok for you. Do US cars have the double point set up?

Yes, working well and just completed a 2000 mile round trip Seattle to Monterey.

Single points, this is Euro Dino originally deliverd to Italy Oct 1972

I had double point set up on my UK car (not Ukraine), with a micro switch inline with the linkage and attached to one of the carbs, when the throttle was closed, the second set of points was brought into play and ignition retarded. Got rid of the points in '79 and lived happily ever after.
Love these pictures, show more than a Dino, but a travelling companion sharing in an adventure and making the journey far more enjoyable than if taken with a later car, which, in my opinion, it visually eclipses in just about every area, especially the front. I also have shots taken from inside the cockpit, looking over the front fenders at speed, and those shots, more than any other, elicit oohs and aahs every time. Thanks for sharing, great pictures.
