Dino front brakes rebuild
 
Need to rebuild front ATE calipers and replace pads. ANy pointers on where to get the ATE complete service kit and new pads.. Any tricks or advice on rebuilding them. My front left does not release and I removed the pads to get some space for movement of the pistons and pressed brake peddle and the pistons move but do not retreat. The one side is now stuck fully out..

Been so long since I had mine I do not remember if it is the Fiat Dino or the Dino 246 where you had to rotate the piston to retract it. It sat on a threaded bolt to make up for pad wear by unscrewing itself.

Must have been the Fiat Dino.

Superperformance in the UK sells caliper rebuild kits.

You're thinking of the rear calipers....
On the front calipers, the pistons just push back in, ideally.

David- It was a long time ago, so you are correct. The fronts were just regular ATEs on my 246.

Just a thought: On British cars, if the rubber brake hoses get old, they can corrode on the inside, much line an old water pipe. This can constrict the fluid in the calipers and clause the brakes to not release.
