It looks like the front clip has been replaced at some point in the car's life as it is incorrect for that chassis number which is an M series car from late 1970. The front clip currently fitted comes from a later E series model. The lower front end of the E series cars was revised in late summer '72 to the style on this car with the short front bumpers, more rectangular front grille and round intakes on each front corner to feed air to the cabin ventilation fans. I've seen quite a few M or early E series car fitted with late E series front clips as it would appear these were the only original panels available from the factory when bodywork was required in the 80's or early 90's.

Alex- Coming along beautifully. How did you get that nice consistent color on the cam covers?

Hi Terry, the covers are original metal colour. They were never painted . I just washed the covers and they came out perfect.

Alex- Yup, knew that, but they do not usually come out that nice. Engine looks beautiful. Much better than the one in my old 02984 when she was only 3 years old.

Alex- They look really nice. Do not remember what color mine were. I thought they were unpainted, but that was 35 years ago.

Painted cam covers were only on L and M series Dinos Terry. The covers on these versions were made of magnesium. For the E series cars Ferrari switched to aluminium covers which were not painted.
