How many rhd 246gt chairs and flares made

The current Octane magazine runs a feature on Dino 246 vs 308 and mentions that only 12 rhd chairs and flares Dino's were made, another source I found claimed there were 21. Does anyone know?

91 cam to the USA according to the Dino Compendium.

If you are buying then be sure to confirm it was an original as there have been many which were not original but added later. I've seen many since I started looking on the 1980's as sellers would like to boost the perceived value of their cars.

For example, at the 1994 Ferrari Concours in Monterey, CA there was a yellow one that a dealer showed and was freshly restored. He told us that he had added the flares and the car was for sale. He placed in the Concours (third I believe) and promptly sold the car that same weekend.

I have one of the original RHD 246GT C&F dinos.

I don't think anybody really knows how many are left, possibly as low as 6, I did read somewhere about 23 RHD were made with those options.

It looks like there could have been 19 RHD GT's with the flares option and Campagnolo wheels. Of those I don't know how many also had the Daytona seats.

Current: F50, 246 GT (x 2), 246 GTS

The Dino register lists 35 cars with flares and campagnolos being supplied through the UK - 19 GT versions and 16 GTS models. Not all of the cars have sufficient data entered in the register to confirm if every one also had the Daytona seat option though.

Of those 35 I believe there was only 5 with the full C&F options.

I've just been back through the register Tony and realised I'd missed recording the seat data on many of the cars. 17 are listed as having had the full chairs and flares option from new in the UK. 11 of those were GT models and 6 were GTS variants. I'll send you my updated list.

I noted that at a Ferrari concours I attended recently, 5 out of 6 Dino 246 on display had the Daytona interior option, which indicates how many standard Dinos have been made to look like Chairs and Flares. It's reassuring to be able to look up the Dino Register to confirm there original status.
I bought a genuine Chairs and Flares Dino about 8 years ago, when the price difference was relatively small. In Australia there have been "several" supposedly C & F cars which seems surprising when according to the Dino Register so few RHD cars were made.

My understanding is that chairs and/or flares were options on later Dinos, as much as a radio or a/c were. Some Dinos may have had the flares without the chairs, others both chairs and flares, others chairs without the flares and yet others with neither chairs nor flares. I also understand that those with the flares had wider , sand cast Campagnola rims otherwise there were no mechanical differences between a chairs and/or flares Dino and any other Dino. If I am correct then this seems to be an academic question without an exact answer given the many possible variations on a theme.

Correct, these were options and the "Wide wheels/housings" was a single, very expensive option, you can see them on the order sheet from mine.

Note: This thread is on RHD C&F Dinos, while mine is a LHD

Iain- The Dino Register is not always a definitive source for information since it depends on where they got the info. My Dec 71 246 GT 02984, US spec, is now listed as a flares and chairs car even though they were not available when she was built and were added later.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

The info I have for the UK is mainly compiled from the sales record archive of Maranello Concessionaires Terry so it should be more reliable. As you say, some of the information on the Dino register is potentially misleading as the original delivered spec of many cars is missing.

All done, she is 40 today and I love the aggressive stance with the flared wheel arch extensions. Cannot think of another car that looks so sexy
