Nice, looks great!!

Did you have to bore the cylinders and go oversize on the new pistons/rings?

The heads look beautiful, wonderful display of craftsmanship.

You mounted the first head and the deck lip that sticks out has the engine number on it, starts/ends with a star and is typically a 7 digit number

This engine belongs to my car and we are happy to have entrusted the guys at Daytona Auto to do the engine assembly.

If anyone is interested we have hundreds of more photos following the restoration of our Dino in the blog at our website www.dino246.com

There is even a close up image of the serial number on the block

Sorry, here is a better description of exactly where to find the Dino engine numbers and an example of what they would look like.
Sometimes decking the block removes them...
Kind regards,
Scott

What is the reddish paint you used on the inside of the casing?

On the old ferrari and other exotic cars . The aluminum is porous . The red paint is an epoxy paint to seal the metal so that oil does not leak threw. You use on internal transmission and engine casings. The manufactures used this method when they built the engine and transmission back in days.
