I will always take lessons from you and Peter. That trip to Monte Carlo will always be in my mind forever, and what you and Peter gave me. One of the most beautiful gifts I have ever received.

Actually the idea came from my 2009 Black Scuderia that I used to own. That car has always been my favorite, and this car is an exact copy of that, minus a different seat pattern I requested based on the mistakes that happened on my 2013 458 Italia requests that were missed.

Hoping someone can design and produce an exhaust that can give me my favorite "high pitched" scream. As the videos I have watched and listened too, tend to show that the 458 Speciale' again has that dreaded "drone" that occurs just above 3k RPM. And the current tone is mid bassy and deeper than I prefer.

Oh well, the car will be a monster, and I will have to get better at testing the handling capabilities of such a car. I have not been too brave with regards to this in any car.

Thanks Ben. Hoping both of ours will be on the same boat, and here soon before the cold sets in.

Beautiful spec... congrats! Is the stripe Grigio Ferro? How long did you wait between the 1st picture of the painted chassis on the production line and the final completed picture?

I have found my Italia a great teacher. She never surprises me, even on the bumpy Nordschleife I found her completely predictable. The chassis really feels analog, compliant, without surprises, when you are really pushing her. And because of the various modes she has, you can educate yourself step by step. Just brilliant.

The Speciale is a bit more of the same, I'm sure she will be happy to show you what she can do without scaring you to death. Just push the envelope slowly and always use your brain. I've seen many 458 crash videos and it was always because the driver did something stupid. If you treat the throttle with respect, you'll soon learn what her (and your) limits are.

Well said Onno.

I drove a 458 Italia for two weeks and as I had only a limited time window, I pushed it a lot more than I should have. The normale has so much power and responsiveness it often scared me. I can only imagine how much more potent the VS and SA are.

Time taken slowly to become acquainted with these beasts will be greatly rewarded.

Green with envy,

David.
