Ferrari has tried to go to an 8 year cycle, with an update at 4 years, so remains to be seen if they follow that schedule for the 458. Looks about right now, with the Speciale about halfway through an 8 year schedule.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

Taz, which do you prefer? 4 or 8 years?

I have heard from my dealer some rumors that by the end of 2014 there will be a change for the 458. I am waiting for this change because i am looking into a GT3 and would like to get a new version which is expected to follow a year after.

Current:F12, F40 , F50 , Enzo , Mclaren P1
Past: 348 spider ,F430, Dino 246 GTS
Waiting: Ghost 2016.

Cutter, I think a four year run is awfully expensive.
I also understand Ferrari are trying to reduce production in order to maintain exclusivity and price. But in the end, that just makes it harder for someone like me (near the bottom of the Ferrari food chain) to obtain one.
Increased numbers = increased probability of my ownership.
So I vote 8 years.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

For those of you who have not seen it, here is the basis for the eight year cycle comment. They have followed it pretty closely so far.

There is a short documentary on Christian Koenigsegg I watched awhile back and he explained the hybrids pretty well...."We try to keep it lean, minimalistic, only put in exactly what we need to get the job done. And to get the performance we need or the drive ability etc. I think all these hybrids coming out are an answer to trends"

I agree with Christian, I am not bashing on hybrids but your everyday internal combustion engine is developing almost as fast as hybrids...
