Opening the baffles on my 2013 458 ?

I am a new Ferrari owner and I figured I go with a starter Ferrari 458 Italia Spider - hehe
I love this car.
I wanted to ask about the exhaust baffles. I heard that you can open them up?
Is that true ?
The sound is great but if I can get a bit more sound without changing the stock exhaust I may like it

Thank you for your responses

Michael- Affirmative, you can have your tech remove the vacuum lines, plug them, and tie them down. The valves are fail open, so they will be open all the time. Alternatively, you can buy a Capristo remote bypass valve kit that has a remote that allows you to select open, or controlled by the ECU. About $600 plus installation.

I believe you need to depress the pedal on the right and they will open!

Should you wish to manipulate them then Capristo does make a remote unit or you can tie into the two wires fitted to each and connect a switch

Hi Michael,

You can also install a Forza Componenti exhaust bypass controller. Cost $375. Look on my web site

http://www.forzacomponenti.com

Several people, including 458 owner, are using these.

Regards,

They open over 3k rpm, and then close again. It's really annoying. Get the Capristo remote, best of both worlds, quiet when you want quiet, and loud when you want loud.

A fellow chatter in the UK has created this nice video showing the installation of the Forza Componenti exhaust bypass controller on his 458 Italia.

This is easily something that anyone who is a bit handy with a wrench can do in about 2 hours.
