List is rubbish and features no corvette's? Written by a true American.

Then lists the Corvette 2014 model as one of the best convertibles ever. LOL

But Ed, it was on the Internet, so it has to be true!

The list is garbage, but I don't think the Corvette falls into supercar territory hence its omission. Really only the Z06 and ZR1 fall into that boat, and they're both spectacular cars, especially if you're into track days.

I still wish the Cali would have been a Maserati. But, it's a great car regardless of where they eventually positioned it.

I was surprised to see that the AMC Pacer, Maverick Grabber and the Pontiac AssTek didn't make the list. I'm definitely not renewing my subscription to MSN Auto.

exactly david. but the article is correct in what it says about the cali. I would hazard a guess that many on here don't consider the cali as a "real" ferrari and frankly wouldn't buy one. sorry.

I don't get it either. There seems to be a complete mishmash of parameters for their list making.

I'm curious about the Mondial. They list it as one of the worst and that surprises me a little. Many years back a friend of mine bought a soft top Mondial for his wife and for driving with the kids. He was driving a 512 TR, which he still drives and cherishes today, but he ended up driving the Mondial plenty. I remember he liked that Mondial. Although he preferred his TR, the Mondial reminded him of his previous great 328 plus the benefit of taking the kids with him. The prices are low. A 300 hp 3,4 seems like a bargain?

What are your experiences? Better off with a Dino 308? The Dino is a 2+2 as well but there is no soft top version.

The best decision from Ferrari lately is to reduce total volume. They say it's for the benefit of exclusivity which I applaud. But I suspect it is also because of a weaker market. Nonetheless, it is a wise decision. With today's high volumes, Ferrari will see many of their new car customers drift over to classic Ferraris and in well-off cases to Pagani/Ruf/Koenigsegg/Gumpert/Noble and perhaps Aventador.

I think Ferrari should:
Reduce volume drastically,
Make a "cheap" version of LaFerrari (or at least make a mid engined V12)
Put a Maserati badge on the Cali. The Cali is a good car but it's not a Ferrari.

Introducing a mid engine V12 would compensate in profit for the loss of the Cali. They would also get transfer money for a while from Maserati for rebadging the Cali.

I consider myself a big petrolhead, and a keen follower of every automotive happenings, events etc. But I have never heard for such web site (I know for MSN, yes) - what I wanted to say is I dont take that page seriously when posting such things. To me, it is like physics professor teaches his students an english grammar lesson.

I would agree the California is not a good supercar, but only because it isn't a supercar to begin with.
Ed, I think it's a Ferrari, but more in line with the way people viewed the Dino when it came out.
And the Mondial isn't a great supercar by today's standards, but I was smitten by it when it came out.

I'll take Boxer's XJR 220 after he sees this thread, reads the article, and decides to give it away.

Ed, WTF are you doing on the liberal dominated MSN website anyway? Shame on you!

Maybe, but the Dino broke new ground. The Cali evoked design clues from the 250 namesake, added nothing to write home about except a lot of extra weight.

Agree Capo, I meant only in the sense that many thought it wasn't a true Ferrari.

Left wing news organization that knows nothing about cars, much less exotics. No such thing as a 2008 Ferrari California.

Left wing says it all.

I wonder why left wingers would want to write about supercars anyhow?

I may be mistaken but I think it is a Ferrari, it has a proper VIN. But you're right, it mustn't be called a Ferrari. It can only be called Dino. That's what Enzo wanted.

Being a Cali owner, I like the car and after chasing the mad scott around the mountains last spring in a Cali 30, it has its place in the Ferrari line up. its still a fast, well handling car. that can be used as a cross country runner as well as a daily driver.
For me its misunderstood, and a very good car if you look at it as a stand alone model.
Those that own them seem to like them and will be repeat customers I am sure.
Yes its not a 458, but do Ferrari need to produce two 458's? oh wait they do already the speciale and what I now like to think as the normale!
