Wheel spacers.

hi guys , i always though wheel spacers were harmless to your car but recently i read in a forum ist not advisable with stock suspension and stock height. And thats bad because i was thinking of adding some spacers to the california. what do you guys think?

Nothing wrong with spacers unless they create interference with the bodywork. Of course it is known that they can affect hub bearing loads under extreme conditions.

The only thing that prevents me from adding spacers is the very high price for them and the longer wheel bolts that are required.

Sebastião- They are optional on Porsches, so that should tell you something.

Sebastião- Yes, 25 mm spacers on the rear, and my 575M has more hp and torque than your California. They have worked perfectly for four years or so.

Spacers create more drag more debris easier curb rash longer bolts or bolts you can't tighten easily etc.

That being said if you don't push your Ferrari to the max it's a big improvement in the looks department.

Hill Capristo Novitec have some good options.

What happens if you go track your car and push it to the limits and you have spacers?

Terry knows a lot more than I ... by far!

It was frowned upon by the racing teams when searching for different wheel and tire sets recently.

I simply am not a fan of altering or relying on a part that may cause a failure on a car going hard in and out of corners repeatedly and high speed runs.

Feel free to google spacers on Ferrari's - most guys are with Terry but there are some that simply don't like them. I personally like them and think Ferrari's look far better with them but being a newbie on the track having something go wrong or even the possibility for me isn't worth it - even if it's 1/1000.

Doug- For a car set up for racing like a Challenge car with slicks that generate a lot more cornering and braking force, I would probably not want spacers, either. For any street Ferrari that is occasionally tracked, not a problem.

Just a small contribution on spacers.. for good look reasons I had spacers installed on my 1.5 cms lowered F430. I did not like it at all. I believe installing spacers without reviewing all suspension rules is not a good idea. My personal experience was that the back was more "nervous", far less progressive and that the car was very sensitive to roads with irregular conditions. I had removed lately and I really had the feeling I changed the whole car, in a positive way.
Take care.

Vince- Spacers do not affect suspension geometry at all since they are perfectly parallel to the hub. All they do is increase the track slightly. Whatever you were feeling on the handling had nothing to do with the spacers.

Hello guys,

Over here at Formula Dynamics we've been selling wheel spacers for Ferrari models for a while with no issues. The kits come complete with the hardware you need so all you have to do is install them. We have some of the strongest made spacers on the market (+22mm Front / +25mm Rear).

Have a look : Wheelspacer Performance Wheel Spacers

Very well built.

Feel free to call with any questions (702) 430-1040.

Cyril

Hmm I am not sure I agree with you on this... despite being of course parallel to the hub, increasing whatever measure by let's say 5 cms, changes the overall geometry of the concerned train and therefore the overall geometry of the car. I did feel a difference on not-that-flat roads.. now, it can be in my head, I agree...
