Road chips

Hello!!

Well I am enjoying my new Italia more than I should..... but never enough.

I have a couple of very tiny road chips that went trough the paint, exposed the metal. No dings fortunately and they are extremely small, I would say between 10 to 15 mils each.....

They are close to the fuel filler cap, on top of the flat metal sheet that creates the beautiful waist that leads to the air intake.

I am thinking of a simple touch up during my next dealer visit. But wanted to hear ideas and recommendations.

I did pay the dealer to wrap the car in clear coat but this unlikely to get chips area is exposed!!!!

I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!

Search doctor color chip. IMO your best fix to what's described. Do it yourself so it's done right or seek a professional detail shop, not a dealer which I've seen use touchup paint that leaves an uneven surface. Good luck!

Hello Mark. The clear film is a 3M product that was installed by the dealer. It is replaceable.

Bluenart. Thank you for the tip!

Habsy! You are right. If I wanted to stare at the car I would rater buy a poster! Ferrari or not I am obsesive with detail so I can't help it. I must fix it.

What flavour are the chips

Wrapping cars in clear film are you guys insane, that's like not porking your girlfriend so the next guy can have the pleasure, geeze guys loosen up & live a little, life's for living & its only a few chips on a car that'll depreciate with or without them!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

You are confused regarding the saying Peter. That saying is regarding not driving your car. It is different when you plan on keeping a car for a long time, vs. buying one and flipping it in a year or less.

Also, still don't get the clear wrapping thing Mark as they're a cars battle scars & add character...but each to their own

+1. If you don't plan to be married to her, wrap the rascal or it will cost you when it's time to get out of it.

The new wrap film is almost unnoticeable and if you plan a spirited parade lap on a regional track you'll regret not having it - with or without the gobs of "blue tape".

Because when you go to trade it in, no one over here wants a Ferrari with chips all over the front bumper, hood, mirrors, fenders, or rockers.

Cheap asses can skimp, but I don't.

Ain't that the truth
I still look at the pictures you sent me of your 16M being prepared - wow! Wow! Wow!
Daren't show them to mine, I'll be arrested for neglect and abuse. LOL
On a positive note, I'm told your old 16M had a nice holiday in Italy on the Tribute Mille Miglia and has now also joined the Capristo club!
