Moving 458 Challenge Vehicles...

Earlier this year I acquired a 458 challenge from a friend. I unfortunately just do not have the time to track however in the slightest, complete impulse buy to my detriment.

I just got rid of my F430 and went to an R8 for a daily driver. I am looking at getting rid of my challenge and picking up a standard 458.

All the trade in offers I have received, from ferrari dealerships especially, have been essentially scraping the bottom of the barrel. Does no one want challenge cars?

How would you go about trying to off load a challenge?

I have been looking for a challenge car in Europe and there are loads of "deals" over here also!
What have you been offered? Its the state of the world less and less spare cash to go racing, and so loads of top quality race and rally cars are on the market right now! it is a buyers market for sure. and a few dealers around Europe have unsold cars also still in showrooms.

Offers have been everything between 75-140K USD.

I am thinking about just listing it on ebay and cars.com but not sure honestly what the most efficient way would be to move the vehicle or is there another avenue for challenge cars? IE racing car auction forums etc?

What are the hours / mileage on the car? What does it come with, i.e. tires wheels etc.? Have any photos?

PMCCHRIS 02-25-2013 08:12 AM

Less than 100 hours on it, never paid attention to mileage honestly. Its at my other property, I will be over there in two weeks and will be sure to snap some shots.

It is the Rosso Corsa though with all the fun stickers on it.

Have two spare sets of tires for it and a change out of brakes. (Have both steel and CCMs extra).

Just as indication i have been offered a brand new car at less than 160k euros
With all spares and 3 sets of wheels all new

PMCCHRIS 02-25-2013 10:00 AM

Ok so 215K USD. Looks like the 140K USD offer isn't too bad after all.

Thank you kindly for the information.

There are racing forums, e.g., ApexSpeed.com, but I think eBay will get you a wide audience.
Why not use all the sites you can find? They're essentially free.
Too bad you can't get it street registered.:steeringwheel::yikes::crowngrin:

More than a year later after this post, I haven't seen 458 Challenge's listed for sale anywhere near 140k USD in Europe or anywhere else in the world. It takes 200-250 USD to buy a low km 458 challenge car here. Yes there some deals are in Europe but still 175k-200k USD for higher km cars.

I'm also curious - I have seen used Challenge cars listed here in the USA for $240-$250K, but never (ever) <<$200K.

Yeah Ben this guy is a troll [for a low ball price] for sure - funny how all the posts were the same day.
