Scud/16M or 458

Enough guys on here have both scuds and 458s. 458 is the newer better F car. What makes you guys keep/drive both. I would think the newer iterations just get better and more fun to drive. After owning the 458 what makes you want to get back in the scud or 16M? Just curious what's the motivation.

The 458 is much more versatile. More sound insulation, cruise control option, less carbon fiber bling. 458 is a little faster, depending on lower weight options ordered. Will have to see what happens when I get mine, but most likely, it will just be a necessary path to 458 (Scuderia, Monte Carlo, Competizione) ownership.

Many 458 owners have sold their 458's and gone back to Scuds, many Scud owners have moved to 458's. Just depends on how much "raw" you want in your sports car. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford both,
perfect combo.

Best combo to me would be 16M and 458 coupe, or the other way around.

Enjoy your Scud coupe, right now, it is my favorite car. Just get the remote valve system done, or add an RSC or Capristo Exhaust.

Fair enough. I'm ordering capristo remote valve control real soon.
The install seems straight forward so I'll be doing it myself just for the joy of it.
Hopefully it's as straight forward as it reads.

One more interesting thing. All the other cars I've owned have their own scent but the interior smell of this scud is the most sexy. I can't explain it but can't wait to get in another scud and see if it smells similar. Must be the Kevlar type material in the car. I know they replaced the headliner before I took ownership. I'm probably isolating myself into freak status but its true. Every time I get in car the smell is part of the experience.

Jose, you're not isolating yourself into freak status. To me the smell is definately part of the experience too. I've written in another post that I walk into my garage now and then (even though my car is at my mechanics for yearly service) just for a sniff of that intoxicating perfume that only an Fcar seems to have. If that makes us freaks, so be it...:-)

Please find a similar deal like the one you got, would buy another Scuderia in a heartbeat!
