An proud new owner of a 458 Italia

Hello,

I am about to take the plunge with a 2012 458 Italia with less than 400 miles in the odometer. The car is obviously under warranty and it comes with the 7 years Ferrari Service. I am ordering a vehicle inspection that will be conducted tomorrow and Sunday I am getting married after I perform a personal inspection of the bride. I just wanted to ask the forum if there is anything specific I should look at or consider for inspection, my thought process is that if no repairs, no damage and running OK then I should be covered by warranty......

I have driven other 458's so I am somewhat familiar with the expectations but since you guys have the experience I would appreciate some words of wisdom...

thank you all for your insight and wish me luck!

Just check for signs of accident damage (paintwork, etc). Everything else is covered under warranty.

sounds like you are pretty much buying a new car. i would imagine a carfax and a good check over by a body man is all that's needed. ed

Good Luck - sounds like all you will need is a big fat check

I live in Missouri - if I buy a car the last day of the year it get's nailed for Personal Property Tax for the entire year.

May want to push paperwork til Jan 1.

Good luck with the purchase! Except for damages due to accidents, everything else should be covered by the 7 years warranty. Other than that, enjoy driving your new car in good health!

Good-luck on the pre-inspection of the bride and make sure your prenuptial agreement excludes the 458 as a "shared asset."

When he said "the bride", he meant the 458. "The marriage" meant signing for the car.

OP, As a 458 owner I don't have anything to add really. Less than 400 miles, what could be wrong with it? I would just make sure everything is in order vis-avis the title, finance outstanding, etc..

Thank you all for your wisdom and input. I live in Michigan and I have never paid property tax for a car, I will double check but I think Michigan is exempt......

Inspection went ok and the car scored 100/100 so it seems that I am on track.

Check is ready, documentation verified so I am flying into PHL this Sunday for closing.

I am using Enclosed Vehicle Transport (that is the name of the company) with a non-stackable enclosed trailer, they seem to be equipped to handle the task, let me know if you have any good shippers or any shipping advise based on your experience.

Once again thank you!

Congrats. What color is the interior?

Based on license plate holder, assume you are in the US or Canada.
