A four door really doesn't enter in the same league to begin with. Let alone the fact that they have to resort to a turbo to make it go in stead of building an engine which churns out high power and torque without a turbo.

Although I have to say in all honesty that Porsche has made a typically looking Porsche with the Panamera; same nose, same rear, just one more set of doors added in the middle. To me Panameras and Cayennes are "footballer Passats".

You would be surprised. Recently had two people pull up beside us, back up just to find out what it was. With the right wheels, it is similar to the FF, much better looking in person.

If I could daily drive an FF, that would be my daily driver no question, but the Panamera Turbo is a great alternative.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority for that, even Porsche lovers dislike the Panamera.

I saw a lot in Istanbul, maybe ever 30 cars, 2-5 were Panamera but in London, possibly I think I only saw 3 Panamera's over the space of 3 weeks walking around Westminster/Mayfair, the more wealthier areas -- which was strange -- so most people must share your opinion Boxer. Some would even say its fact

Keep hoping they will make a 2 door version of the Panamera. That would be really attractive with a coupe shaped rear.

Yes, AM DB 2/4, E-Type, 166MM Berlinetta were all enormously attractive with that round rear.

Taz, met with a few execs at Porsche Riyadh, and they hinted that concept of a 2 door Panemera based GranTourer, a modern 928 so to speak, was one of the concepts under consideration.

Bless them!

If it comes out right it could be quite a looker. Let it have engine bay air vents on the sides a la 330 GTC.

Paul- 911= engine cantilevered over rear suspension plus band-aids to make her handle. Panamera Coupe= front mid-engine design like the old 928 but not as clunky. Not comparable.

Paul- Yup, I know. I am often accused of being overly pedantic. Sometimes justified. Comes from being an instructor in fighter aircraft for most of my first career.

Yes in that case it is also a survival advantage. We tend to be the same in surgery......

I understand! I was in Switzerland this last week and my Panamera is up there on winter tyres and I must say she impressed on the ice and snow and -9 temps. respect has to be given for that and 500 bhp

Paul- Everybody is always impressed by how fast the Panameras are when considering weight and hp. I think Porsche fudges the power and torque on the low side for the family Porsche. Maybe they disconnect one spark plug lead when measuring power.

Terry on the Power, I have thought that for such a long time, i have had well over 200 mph on the German autobahn, and think the carbon ceramics i ordered have saved my skin more than once when trying to slow down from 150 mph speeds to sub 80 on numerous times. A coupe i agree would be a car and a half, but I think the drift from the 911 would be so huge the 911 production would stop very quickly and so they just wont do it!
