Italia Coupe vs Spider

Which do you think looks nicer, back when I saw the spider sometime early 2012, I thought it looked nicer than the coupe.

I retract my comments on that now, I think the Coupe looks nicer, I just view it as the original Italia, and came to be familiar with it's looks for 2 years since it was being produced.

Not to say the Spider is horrible, it looks great, but for me, the Coupe with the glass window just steals the show.

Your opinions on what looks nicer?

Look only, maybe the coupe.
I'll buy the spider in the next years when it'll reach the cost that a used coupè has now, without any doubt.

Want to like the Spider better, oh how I want to like it better.
Just can't though., I think they hit perfection with the coupe.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

+1 for me. I just love the perfection of the styling in the coupe...although when the sun is out, I always think of how nice the drive in the spider...

To buy - a spider for me, as I'd run with the roof of hot or cold day. Although I may aslo be a bit mad as I complained that the heater on my 360 spider wasn't working and wouldn't get the cabin warm with the roof off....but it was a bright sunny day and -5 outside

On looks - the coupe has better lines, particularly from the rear. The coupe works really well and has the glass engine cover, the spider looks a bit clunky from the back. Maybe Ferrari will change it as the spider version of the McLaren 12C spider has a glassengine cover.

Onestly, who care about the engine window ... If I wanna see the engine, I open the box ... If I wanna show the engine, I should sell tickets around.
Just wanna wait to know if there'll be problem with that new kind of roof: I hate when water enters in the car, or others problem like cloosing or opening failure, junction problems ...

A mixture then.

Is the Italia now referred to as the coupe, and the Spider as the spider.

for example

458 Italia - Coupe
458 Spider - Spider, not many mention "Italia Spider".

The official factory designations are 458 Italia for the coupe and 458 spider for the convertible. That's why you don't hear it referred to as the 458 Italia spider. The same applied to the 360 with the coupe being the 360 Modena and the convertible the 360 spider. The badge on the dash is where you find the official factory designation.

I am keeping an ear to the ground for the right car but I am still very early in the learning process on this model. My guess is it will take a year or two to pull the trigger.

Currently debating the merits of an order for an F12 but I'm also considering an F50. I think I need to scratch the V12 itch at some point as I've done the V8 extensively now and have the V6 angle pretty well covered

100% the coupe for me. It is so much better to look at, the difference I find to be quite significant (but of course, just my opinion, fine if others think differently).

Yes, the Spider would be great to drive on a sunny day. But even then I get bored by open top cars pretty quickly, especially if they are fast. To me, wind buffetting clashes with a car like a 458, and for the 99 days of the year when you're driving your Spider with the roof closed because it is raining or cold, it would have been better to have the coupe anyway.
