Iain- That color really suits the 458 and really makes it look like the younger, but bigger, sister of the Dino. Look forward to seeing photos of the two Rosso Dino cars together.

Pics taken today upon collection. The car is simply fantastic I can't believe how much more I prefer it to the 458 Italia which itself is a brilliant car.

Iain- Will be kind of hard to maintain a low profile in that car. Whatever the Rosso Dino paint cost you, it was worth it. I usually much prefer the coupes to the spiders or GTS models in the 246 GT and its successors, but this Spider looks at least as good as the coupe.

Too bad they could not incorporate the 246 curved rear window, but kind of hard to retract one of those.

Looks exceptionally nice.

I agree with Terry that spider looks just as good/better than the spider (with me any colour), but I think this is the first Ferrari that I actually prefer the spider over the coupe.

It's very practical... whenever you get time could we see a video of the roof folding. I've never seen an orange Ferrari before

Terry,

Looking at the design of the spider I can see how easy it would have been to do away with the glass hatch of the Italia and replace it with a flat rear deck and curved rear window like a 246 or 355. That would have made a stunning design IMHO.

As it is the retractable rear glass window on the spider is fantastic. With the top up and the glass down you get a lot of fresh air in the cabin but no buffeting or tyre roar. Instead you get that melodius exhaust noise to savour and enjoy. It also gives a far better and less obstructed view behind the car than the letter box like slit created by the hatch on the Italia.

Oh nice I was wondering if you could do that. Especially on a hot day when you dont want to be in direct sunlight but you still get that airflow. That's nice.

Iain: you have bought a dilemma. Does it look better Top up or down? I can't decide. Love the color and the car. Congrats.

BTW is that a Cayman R in the background? In Peridot Green? You, my friend, are unabashedly not afraid of colour.

Iain- How is the Dino doing? Still looking forward to the two girls together. Funny thing is, now they are worth about the same, not bad for a 40 year old cougar.

Terry,

The Dino is taking a bit longer than expected (no real surprise) but is nearly there. The mechanicals are pretty much done including a full engine stripdown and rebuild. She's on the last leg now with the interior to be refitted and final road testing.

She's looking pretty good for a lady of advancing years. The third pic is especially for you. It's now firmly attached to the underside!

Iain- She is looking good. Will bring Jan in to see the photos, even if she probably will hit me, because that was her favorite car.

You are correct, the belly pan from 02984 is still lying in the tumbleweeds somewhere between Muleshoe, TX and Clovis, NM. It left in a hurry, so a good reason to make sure all those little fasteners are there. Made it much easier to change the throttle cable, though. Make sure you have a spare whenever you go anywhere.

Luckily, she did not hit me, but loved both cars.
