what to do when the 458 is down....

more driving of course!! in pouring rain with corsas on the scuderia!!
its surprisingly good in the rain, never slided once, but buddys did say i shouldnt slide going this slow.
well, im chicken sh!t when its raining with corsas.

and honestly my scud gets better with age, even with my 458 breathing down its neck.
its probably the last ferrari that drives and feel like a "ferrari".
The 458 took everything to another level, along with it came smoothness and comfort which were unheard of before.

i just came back from a ride in that lambo balboni with kresig exhaust, everytime the guy shifts full throttle, i get a whiplash, its insane. It feels like an exotic, the ride is hard and everything feels firm and raw, its cramped and all very exotic compromising, but i cant buy into that coming from 430s and 458s, its just too brutal.
guess, im getting old.
i can see why some people like it, but once u get spoiled by ferraris, the lambos are just too raging.

the 458 is in another world, but the scud is still the best ferrari driving experience. (maybe alongside the GTO, but i never driven that, so Scud )

when i got back, the 458's rim is perfectly round again! gotta love the efficiency over here.

Very nice cars John! I agree with you regarding the Scud vs 458 but I didn't know that Scud is still "controllable" in pouring rain and especially with Corsa tires.

Did they repair the 458's rim? Or was it replaced by a new rim? I'm interesting to know this as I have a simular rim damage on my 430 (front RHS). I was told that it wasn't possible to get it repaired or if I do, I would take high risks braking totaly the rim. So I left it like it is despite a small vibration in the steering wheel.

People here get bent rims all the time especially on our bad roads, I always have my repaired since they were never serious like cracking or something.
Dealer always recommend u get new rims, but with the long order time I just get them repaired, my 458's wasn't bad but u can see it's slightly out of round when running on the balancing wheel, 2 hours and $90 later it's as good as new. Go do it!

John- Nice collection, but you need a V12. You have sixes, eights, and tens. Logically next would be a 12.

I would think Corsas would be scarey in the wet, but they are probably actually pretty close to a racing wet tire. Those photos look like they were taken in the tropics somewhere (repeat, I see).

Seems I remember you having a 612 or 599 in the past.

John- I feel better about the whole thing now. Sorry for the memory lapse. Not enough beer. Very nice 612, and I love the 599.

Seriously I think the 599 is the most under appreciated V12! Even more so than the 612!
599 is super powerful with shocking torque, while 612 is never known to be fast but it is.
With the like new used prices now, the 599 has to be the bargain of the century, with some aftermarket coilovers this thing will run with anybody!

Love the shot through the "flying buttress" of the mirror.

Glad to see you supplied us the answer to where "here" is in one of your photos. Taiwan, correct?
