Two More Wrecked 458 Italia's

Yes, unfortunately it has happened again. The latest is the first to take place on U.S. soil and occurred late yesterday in Costa Mesa, California and thankfully no one was injured in the incident. It appears to be because of an engine fire, a fate suffered by two other examples. Who knows how many other wrecked 458's are out there that we donít know about but this takes the total known so far to 10 458's wrecked in the past 91 days.

Another 458 crashed in the Czech Republic on the 11th of August. It had less than 300km on the clock and only six hours after getting the car from the dealer the owner crashed the car in a ditch while overtaking on the way to Pardubice. (Last 2 pics)

Wreck or fire? That website stated fires started in the rear left area of two other 458 engine bays.

So what exactly happens when your brand new Ferrari's engine spontaneously catches on fire? Are you just sore out of luck (and about half the value of the vehicle)?

Insurance, that's why you have it. And lawsuits are likely to happen as well.

You will initially be limited to insurance reimbursement unless you suffer some personal injury or damages as a result.

Apparently Ferrari has a problem but in the absence of it causing you some direct injury ( not $ damages ) not much action against Ferrari.
