California exhaust pipes: Real or not?

From www.thetruthaboutcars.com:

'Sure, the front is OK, but the rear looks like a F430 thatís been backed into a brick wall. And then we have the Lexus cosmetic card trick: fake exhaust tail pipes.'

This has been a good site for details - can anyone else refute their statement? ENZ9 has vouched for their authenticity, but I have heard/read conflicting viewpoints. Clearly (to me) it appears as if the bottom pipes are authentic - still unsure about the top pairÖ

Does anyone else have first-hand knowledge?

they are real....but like you say, the cosmetics are ....trying at best.

side gills, front air scoop, rear what evers, it tries too hard IMO.

I will try to post later but those pipes are real...even the scoop is functional, sort of, not really needed in the type of engine in there.

Thanks Granucci. It's too bad 'reliable' publications get the facts wrong. And not that I didn't trust the report from ENZ9, there are just differing views on the topic.

Thanks for the additional data!

Almost forgot

these are NOT real, but, it truly does have more than the OEM intended.

Question: Can you guess how many were there before I PS'ed it?

Nope, that guy actually had it modified to SIX, I added the other six as a tribute, guessing that is what he was trying to do, to Enzo's 12 webber and multi-exhaust systems back in the day ;o
