FF is on the way

Looking forward to having a Ferrari as my dd.

Ferrari Fort Lauderdale was great to work with.

Hoping it arrives in a few days or going to grab it and drive it back to STL.

Surprisingly received a few pm's from potential buyers of the FF.

Power warranty runs 4800.00 and has to be renewed every year along with an inspection decided to take the warranty.

Pick up is delayed til next Friday will be in my hands next Saturday or Sunday.

Sincere Congratulations!

You should be happy ... gorgeous Dino.

Start you own thread it's more than deserving

Side note a long time ago couldn't decide on a Healey or Dino believe it or not. Anyway I have an original Dino key ring somewhere if I find it sending it your way!

Enjoy!

Thanks, Doug. Yes, good idea. I had a Healey once, my daily driver for about 3 years. Great car, if occasionally embarrassing: I had something go in the gearbox once and had to drive 150 miles home with only first and second gears!

Best wishes, John

That had to be miserable.

Upgraded the transmission to a Toyota conversion - that being said the project still sits in my garage. Bought a hard top racing heads side exhaust lots of Les Leston NOS part goal is / was a race rally car - why I don't send her off for completion is just silly.

I went back and forth.

Closest dealer is 300 miles away - warranty includes towing which would cost me 1500 round trip.

Only 1600 miles so it's still early where there may be a few bugs.

Ferrari DCT has had some known issues - the whole thing needs to be torn into for a sensor etc. which runs anywhere from 10 - 25k. It is rare on the FF but figured why not for 4800.00

Plus since I purchased at a dealer the warranty includes a full inspection CPO which would have cost 1k other than the battery car checked out perfect which they thew in a brand new one no charge.

Being picked up today should be here Sunday - can't wait.

Doug- Very pretty FF. Looks great in that color and I love cuoio interiors.

John- Congrats on the Dino 246 GT. Has been 38 years since I traded mine for a 365 GTB/4. Wife is still mad at me.

I just sealed a deal on an 12' FF, trading in my 05' 612; 45,000 miles was time for a little change. I'm on the fence regarding the warranty as mentioned above. The dealer quoted me $5,500 for the Ferrari warranty, and it's only for a year. Another contact at a different Ferrari dealership quoted $6,600 and mentioned that after 5 years it would hum up to $7,500 and require a compression check. Not sure why I'm getting two different numbers, whats holding me back is that it's not bundled for 2-3 years but only one year.

Tough call, I've already stretched the budget to upgrade, the car was inspected and Ferrari certified just no warranty, thoughts advice.

Thanks it's on the way - love the Dino picture you should frame that shot.

Going to place a clear bra on the massive front and ceramic coat the rest including wheels calipers. The ceramic coating is amazing the finish looks even and more pop after a wash the water repels off.

One dealer quoted me 4500 the other 4800 after the first year I won't renew. Was that the one at Marshall G - if so that's a gorgeous FF.

There are lots of FF's with 100k on the ODO - no issues.

Congrats!

Why such a difference in quotes? From reading through the threads it seems some owners had gearbox/transmission issues costing 25- 30k if not under warranty. Then subsequent reading/posts shard an update that there is fix for that issue costing much less now?

Any truth the above?

I picked up mine from AZ. Will post pics soon

May be due to more miles and year - ask the dealer.

There are some very rare issues on early FF's but those have all been fixed. A sensor or minor part the whole transmission needs to come out. This is far more common on the 458 than the FF but there are also a lot more 458's.

Check if your FF had any past issues but with that many miles I think you are safe of a defective DCT - it's piece of mind if you keep your FF for 3 - 4 years in the event something happens it's a break even.

After I bought the warranty called the dealer a day later to cancel it but it was too late - it depends on your mood at the time of purchase there is no right or wrong answer.
