Peter- Hard to believe someone would cut the top off McQueen's GTB/4, but times were different back then. Daytonas were being chopped daily, including the one I owned in the late 70s, and NART Spiders were hard to find. New owner will get back his investement if the James Coburn California is any indication.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

There are several Daytonas over here that have been reconverted from cut Spiders to Berlinettas.

Boxer- Makes sense to me. I remember a photo of Straman's shop with a stack of Daytona coupe tops piled up like cordwood. No telling what happened to them.
