Mondial T Valeo's?

Greetings,
Does anyone have a source for determining how many Valeo's were imported into the US?
I have seen "a couple handful" and "less than 30" listed in some specs but nothing definite.
Also, what the opinion on this car becoming a desirable collectors car in the future due to the low numbers (Valeo specifically).
Thanks,
Burch1

I have asked the same question many times even to Cavallino and only get the same approximate numbers you have. There either seemed no interest from Spa or no one truly knows. I suspect the latter. As for collect.... It is the Mondial above all. If one were avail when I were purchasing I would def have got it.

For instance there is a Valeo curretly on eBay for BIN @ $30k US!!! That's crazy low money for this car. I would take this over the standard Mondial anyday, even with the engine out service. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferra...item3f17b07814

VIN : 92409

would have to look that up in the registry http://mondialregistry.org/registry

Many bids pushing that one.

Burch- There is an article in the current issue of Forza on the Valeo T, which is what I assume generated your question. If not, you might want to acquire the issue. The number they mention is less than 100. I have never seen a number for the Valeo, except that 3 coupes and 5 Cabriolets were UK RHD out of 96 total Mondial Ts (8.33%) sold in the UK. Extrapolating to the entire population of Mondial T cars produced, not much better than a WAG, that would be ~150 cars.

I would say the chances of the Valeo T becoming a collector car are slim, but what do I know? There were six 365 GT 2+2 cars built by Ferrari with automatic transmissions, too, but I have not heard of any collectors beating the bushes to find one.

if you read the Forza article you will see this is no automatic . from the numbers I have heard there are no more than 50 . most were cabriolet sent to the united states . it is definitely a car to watch . certainly to me it has a premium over the standard as you can always go back to the standard just insert a clutch pedal . .

Rik- I know exactly what a Valeo is. My comment is related to the fact there were only 6 QMs with automatic and they are not collector cars. The Mondial T is currently not a collector car and the Valeo transmission is not likely to turn one into a collector car except as a curiosity item.
