Default Figured I'd say hey!

Just checkin in to the area. I'm Mike and I've been a member since '09 to scour info on these amazing beasts. I've spent the past 4 years almost owning Toyota MR2s, turbo and non turbo, stock and modified. I've seen some track time, seen a lot of autocross time, and used to do that whole "street racer" thing. BUT! We all grow up and it's soon time for me not to be in the "Poor Man's Ferrari" and step it up to my long time dream car, the F355 in British Racing green with tan interior, Targa top, in any performance trim.

I have many questions and a lot to learn, but those will wait for their own thread!

Welcome to the side that posts. Nice choice of cars. A buddy has a spider in those colors.

Where are you located?

No UK, I just try to present myself in a civilized manner. and I just happen to like the green the 355 came in:

very subtle, but when you recognize it, it's beauty shines through. Plus there are two of my favorite things I've ever heard on the planet, they have an equal share in my heart. One was my wife saying "I do" the other is this:

Welcome to FLife

I hope we all don't grow up

F355 in BR Green looks great - there is a thread on a 550 or 575 on a BR Green

Enjoy the place!

Welcome all over again. Those MR2s can make some pretty amazing power. I like the last of the Mk2s. That time period was a sport car rennaissance of sorts... RX7, 300Z, Mitsu 3000, Dodge Stealth, Acura NSX... good stuff.

Welcome to FL.
You'll have to join us in Annapolis for C&C.

Agree, the 355 in that colour combo is brilliant mate.

(oh, I forgot. You did say eastern shore, not UK)

so two options with that:

Park far enough away that I don't look like I'm trying to say my car is on the same level as a ferrari, or park close enough to raise the value of everyone's cars, right?

Welcome. Those second generation MR2s look a lot like an F355 at any rate, so no problem where you park. The good news about BRG is that it is a buyers' market for Ferraris in green. One of our FLifers is sniffing around a dark green 575M that is priced $10-20K below market because of the color. Will probably go for less than $70K, and it is an outstanding buy at that price.

Speaking of Toyota parts, last week that MR2 based faux ferrari 360 spider was at katies. I know how Al has a special place in his heart for these works of art so I wouldn't discount him "appropriating" anything from anyone.

A good replica car can be a daily driver, much more reliable and cheaper to repair. That spider isn't very passable IMHO. Give the guy credit though, he built it himself and doesn't try to pawn it off as real. Same w/the guy with the 308 or 328 replica. Different strokes for different folks.

Will you be at C&C this weekend with the 308? We're making a cigar run.
