Will do.

All the ones w/whom I was familiar to whom I supplied product a while ago are no longer in business unfortunately, and they were great shops!

I personally worked at Tweeter in rockville as an installer for just under 11 months before they closed down. I could take a look at it if you'd like.

edit: Just noticed this is my first post in two years! I guess I should browse here more often.

Ku-sama

Many thanks for your offer but the customer did find a shop in the area.

Was that tweeter, etc. to which you were referring?

However I don't want to "professionally" do car audio anymore (I quoted professionally because of the trash equipment people were putting in their cars) but I do a small bit for my friends and my family when the need arises or when I'm bored. Keep me in mind if you ever run into anyone else who might want some work done.

It was an odd request from a customer in that area.

It is the MOST digital electrical system that has killed aftermarket car stereo.

Almost every car has this system now, and it requires a digital interface to add anything to work w/the system.

Everything travels over optical digital cables rather than over wire. So for manufacturers it cuts car assembly time and cost and also keeps most aftermarket folks out of their game!

I did design such an interface but the software costs were getting out of hand and the IC needed for the interface is very pricey and must be purchased in lots of 10,000 pieces.

Still may move forward with it but not sure at this point.

don't most custom installers run their own power wires? of course all the interconnects are custom. so what would prevent you from installing a system? seems like it would be completely outside the cars wiring?
