Default st michaels concours this weekend!

The St Michaels Concours d'Elegance is this weekend! The location is the Maritime Museum in the heart of St Michaels. Its about a 2 hour drive out to the area.

This year there is a new class with post war race cars. Our own Admiral will be showing his wonderful Mondial. So come on out and support the Admiral!

The pre war grand classics will be on display with Duesenbergs, Delehayes, Pierce Arrows, Packards, Talbot Logos, a 1750 and 2300 Alfa, some duPonts and many other cars you just don't normally get a chance to see. We are talking a mini Pebble Beach with out the crowds or the $200 entrance fee. It does cost $35 a person with proceeds going to the Maritime Museum. Check out the website for more info. St. Michaels Concours d' Elegance - Official Site

St Michaels is also a beautiful place this time of year. Bring the wife, bring the kids, bring yourself!

Ed and I will be there along with Richard and Patty Garre from Radcliffe and hopefully many others.

regards

Ken

Default think positive!

The event is rain or shine. Luckily, the access to the field is a solid road, not like when this was held at the Inn at Perry Cabin.

you are correct! rain or shine it's still the most exclusive concours within driving distance. Be there or be square.

Dear Ed,

Better yet how about a small tent?

It would not be the first time the car got wet, as the 1st photo below was early morning at Pebble Beach with a cold misty foggy air day. The second one was at Elkhart Lake for the FCA National in 09 and that was rainy.

But I still prefer a cloudy dry day. Showing the car on a cloudy day does magical things to the color.

Best regards,

I prefer cloudy too. st michaels does seem to be wet. must be the time of year it is held. never actually rains through the concours though. usually just before. see you there.

Dear Ed and Ken,

Sorry but in light of the latest forecast for tomorrow David and I have decided not to bring the Mondial and the Talbot to St Michaels this year.

The remaining shows on my calendar are the Classics at Brantwyn next weekend and the Rockville show 15 October - perhaps will see you there.

Best regards,

Robert

Short update, the Ferrari was just dropped off here at home and the trailer with the Talbot is on its way St Michaels. The weather tomorrow will dictate whether it comes off the trailer or not.

At least it is not an open car like the Mondial.

Best regards,

Robert

Admiral, richard has a 20'x20' tent for just such occasions. He has graciously offered to lend it and i can bring it down if you like. No trouble. I would really love to see the car there and i think you would really enjoy yourself and possibly bring home some more metal. Let me know.

Dear Ed,

Thanks anyway for the offer, I will keep it in mind for future occasions. I hope that the forecasters are wrong for the folks that do go this year.

Best regards,

Robert

as much as i like to see your car, i'm dying to see the talbot-Lago. i will be judging that class and i hope he takes it off the trailer! probably worth the drive out to a car guy just to see that one.

Not a drop of rain, wasn't even muddy. had a great time, met some great people and saw many great cars. I was lucky enough to judge the class that included an alfa 2300, 1750, an amilcar pegase grand prix roadster (1 of 6) and the talbot-lago( 1 of 10). what an amazing group of cars. pics to come....

Dear Ed,

I am delighted that the day turned out as well as it did for those who attended. And I regret having believed the doom and gloom forecast. Almost reminds me of the FCA National Meet last year with storms and heavy rain and flooding all around but at the track it was dry and pleasant.

Ah well the forecasters are saying next weekend for the Classics at Brantwyn it will be sunny and cool. Now that is a forecast I want to believe in.

Best regards,

PS Bryan's shot of the Talbot makes me think that my driveway must have some sort of magic leading to Best of Show results
on second thought it is more likely the result of David's good work.

we missed you! maybe next year. David's work is second to none. Every time i see one of his cars i'm more impressed. They are also the easiest to judge .
