Earthquake and now a Hurricane?

Just felt a substantial earthquake here, lasted about 20 seconds. The entire house was shaking and it caused a mini-tsunami in my swimming pool.

That's okay, because Hurricane Irene will fill the pool back up on Sunday.

WTF is going on? This isn't the West Coast!

Pictures fell off the walls and looks like we have a few cracks in the ceiling now.

Crap.

Won't know if the pool cracked until tomorrow probably.

I have to remember to check the water level in the morning.

Goddammit. I'm typing this from my deck in Salvo, NC.

Was actually in Ocracoke earlier today when they decided to order evacuation of that island for tomorrow. Hatteras island will probably get its evacuation order for Friday. Of course, then I checked my work email to find out that all hell had broken loose up north, and that my entire firm was standing around on the sidewalk on Penn Ave. locusts anyone?? Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, the weather down here is frickin fantastic!!

Not locusts, stink bugs. Those fuckers have wasted my corn crop. Now they will start coming indoors. nice!
