There is an incredible concours event coming up this weekend in Hershey. Its called the Elegance at Hershey and is the brainchild/inspiration of Jack Rich, one of the most significant collectors in the US. He has many Pebble Beach winning cars. And there will be many Pebble Beach cars at this event. Check out the website The Elegance at Hershey On Saturday the 11th, the VCCC is hosting the Grand Ascent. The Grand Ascent is a vintage hill climb exhibition in the European tradition, where drivers will pilot some of the finest vintage race cars up the historic back road to The Hotel Hershey. Modeled on similar events such as England’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and paying homage to long standing events such as Mount Equinox, The Grand Ascent will relive the excitement of race cars storming up hill to test the mettle of the driver and the machine. Judge North will have his 16 cylinder Bugatti Grand Prix car going up the hill along with many other interesting vehicles. Sunday will feature the likes of these machines BRASS/ VINTAGE: 1. 1910 Stevens Duryea Model X Touring(FIVA) 2. 1915 Peerless 48 Seven passenger touring 3. 1911 Locomobile Model M 48hp 7-passenger touring 4. 1911 Palmer Singer 5. 1906 Lozier 6. 1911 Mercedes 37-90 4 Passenger Sport ex-Ralph DePalma 7. 1907 Fiat Targa Floria Racer 8. 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Roi de Belges PREWAR FRENCH: 1. 1931 Voisin C20 (exhibition only) 2. 1926 Hispano Suiza H6B Cabriolet by Chapron 3. 1937 Delahaye 135M Roadster by Figoni et Falaschi 4. | Have fun up in Canada! Safe journeys. For anyone else not watching F1, think about road tripping to Hershey. From DC its a 2 hour trip. I guarantee that you will see at least 43 cars that you have never seen before. And they will be cool! regards ken |
