Hi,
I would like to notify you guys of a rally being put together this July 8th-15th. It is called the 3k Auto Rally and will consist of all very high end cars on a 3,000 mile run. Much like the Gumball, or a Cannonball run however more affordable and will be organized differently. The entrance fee is only $300 including passengers; I have sent out many invitations so far and have a few cars already going. I would like to send a few more out to who ever may be interested. I am aiming for a number of cars over 30 while not exceeding 80. There are cash prizes (1st-3rd places) awarded at the end of the rally based upon a list of duties to accomplish or arrival times to meet with points given. Same equal points and duties/ arrival times/ etc will be given to every participant; person in the end with the most points wins the cash.
It is composed of mainly sports cars that are highly modified, rare, or exotic. The rally will begin in DC, driving south hitting popular cities such as Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Miami Beach, Tallahassee, westward towards New Orleans, and North to Nashville, back to DC.
We are looking for sponsors as well if you are a business owner interested in taking part. There will be several sponsors involved with the rally. We are looking to gain something useful and of interest from the sponsors such as a dinner put together one of the nights from your company's expense in return for very high publicity. We will have a decal of the sponsor's logo on each sports car entered in. This event will be put into magazines and grow a large interest of people along the annual continuity.

With only two postings this looks like pure spam. I think a bit more info is needed and it would probably be a good idea for you to check back since you are reaching out for participants here. Who are you? What does $300 get you? Is there a website yet?

Its not spam, I am trying to get the word out about the rally. Yes there are many forums I am posting to, that is why I mentioned to email me or call if you were interested.

I am not able to attach the guidelines to the rally on this forum, if you email me I can send it out to you. The cost covers numerous non profitable things needed to enter.

I am working with several exotic car service shops and exotic rental shops that will be sponsering the event. There is much more info on the rally, however i need to send out attachments I cannot do on the forums.

I don't think its a scam. I do think bombarding a bunch a forums then telling everyone you aren't going to check them for repsonse or followup may not be a very good approach though. It's a "plenty of time to do it over no time to do it right" approach.

I think many would like to see the "attachments" here. There is no compelling need to contact this guy past that. I think many would agree with me. Plus I'm not real keen on handing someone $300 bucks for me to drive my car 3000 miles. I can do that all by myself....

I also see the other place already zapped his thread as spam.

Im not sure either why I was banned from the other forums. Its a real rally and continues to be ridiculed. If you have no interest fine. Leave it at that. But do not belittle what will be a great event and for a good cause; considering money will be donated to charity.

So I will not continue to "spam" this forum if that is the way you would like to view it. But if anyone is serious about the rally or would like to inquire more about it please send me an email. Again its July 8th -15th

A warning to all users. This rally does not seem to be a done deal. I would proceed with caution before giving this gentleman any money. I will not delete this thread but i will close it. If you are interested in pursuing this please contact the OP. To the OP: we are not as oppressive as other sights, but your unwillingness to provide much detail about this, like who you are and why we should be interested, is not doing you any favors. Saying you won't check back and then checking back is a little silly. In the future, i would recommend being more attentive and forthcoming about your projects. Remember, it is you that wants our cars to attend. It is incumbent on you to prove who you are and what your experience is. Good luck.
