Default seized vehicles from VA man for sale

A buddy of mine was in the jury for this douchebag in Virginia. Byron Keith Brown who was involved in a ponzi scheme. He collected a bunch of cars real quick.

Here is the list of cars up for auction

Luxury Vehicle Auction: U.S. Department of Treasury Seized & Forfeited General Property Program

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VSE Corporation, in conjunction with Manheim Corporation, will conduct a Public Auction of seized and forfeited luxury vehicles formerly owned by Byron Keith Brown of Vienna, VA and Ellicott City, MD.

The auction will be conducted on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Treasury at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at the Manheim Baltimore-Washington location, 7120 Dorsey Run Road, Elkridge, MD, 21075. The general public may preview the vehicles at this location, Monday, February 28, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Previews are open to the media.

Brown acquired the luxury vehicles being auctioned through his involvement in an online ponzi scheme through which he fraudulently obtained over $17 million from online investors. These vehicles were seized from him as part of an investigation by IRS – Criminal Investigation and the prosecution of the case by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Byron Keith Brown was sentenced on December 21, 2010 to 15 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release for wire fraud and money laundering.

The auction will include the following vehicles:

2006 Aston Martin
2005 Rolls Royce Phantom
2002 Ferrari 360
2004 Mercedes Benz Maybach 57
2008 Maserati Gran Turismo
2007 Jaguar XKR CPE
2004 Bentley Continental
2006 Land Rover
2005 Land Rover Range Rover
1936 Auburn Speedster
2006 Mercedes Benz S500
2004 Audi AA8
2007 BMW 3 Series
2005 BMW 7 Series
2005 GMC Canyon
2005 Volkswagen Beetle
Proceeds from the auction will be placed in the U.S. Treasury's Asset Forfeiture Fund. The net proceeds derived from the assets sold will be available as restitution to the victims of Byron Keith Brown’s crimes.

First thing I'd be doing with that 360 is taking the alloys off. Come to think of it thats probably the first thing I'd do to the majority of his cars...

One note, they are no longer his cars. In fact, they are in the custody the US which means by default, as a US taxpayer, I own a piece of those cars. I want the keys so I can test drive them, damn it!

+1 : Please deduct my Federal taxes before I bid...I expect to only pay about -$3,000...or, govt. owes me insurance, tires, and full tank of gas with money for Vegas at close of auction.

I'll just say thanks in advance....going on-line to book my room now.

Anyone ever been to one of these? Any other info for potential bidders? I would guess these cars go for close to what market value is and no "killer" deals?
